About Us

The multi-year Connections program offers  high school students from fresmen to seniors over 120 hours per year of focused activities and personalized training, including summer camp and summer corporate internship components.  We plan to expand this program shortly to include middle school students in the 7th and 8th grades.

The program is sponsored by NJIT through the CCS capstone open univeristy program which is focused on building shared peer-to-peer education network that offers unique learning experiences from all to all. The open university and the connections program are founded by Osama Eljabiri, lecturer and director of CCS capstone courses at NJIT. Over the last 6 years, the open university program has built a number of collaborative learning and supporting communities across all students levels, various indsutries (more than 250 sponsors), alumni, parents, university and local communities.

With the dedicated support and guidance of volunteer Subject Matter Experts from industry, university and community, students work in small project teams to solve real world problems based on scenarios drawn from actual industry cases in broad array of fields, including health, communications, sports, and entertainment.

The curriculum integrates cooperative, project-based learning, team-oriented problem solving, critical thinking skills, multidisciplinary challenges and NJIT’s Virtual Classroom© technology with a cross-sector support structure that gives students opportunities for mentoring and direct interaction with IT and business professionals.

 How much does it cost?

No thing. The goal is to offer the maxiumum educational value abolsutely free of charge for students.

 Who can partcipate?

The program is open to all high school students (and soon to middle school students) starting from but not limited to the state of New Jersey. However, due to limited resources, students with excellent academic records and leadership skills are usually given the priority.
