Sample Summer 2008 Projects


- The Global Microscope: Creating “movies” for the Global Microscope. Movies would be converted into spherical coordinates with software that we already have, and displayed at the Liberty Science Center (Multimedia and Science Project)


- Secrets of Baseball: Research ideas to test various aspects of baseball, especially as they relate to the dynamics of scoring runs and its influence on likelihood of winning games. (Math and Computer Science Project)


- My Space for Science and Technology: Create a multimedia network site for the development of affinity interest groups in science and technology and permitting interactive communication vehicles – a la ‘My space”, You Tube”, etc., with high appeal and interest.

 
- Testing a new device to help measure finger joint angle
without touching the hand, using lasers and a camera.


- Testing an idea for a method to measure if someone is actually touching objects - using the hand conductance in different ways.


- Construct a little device to translate rotational movements of the Wiimote remote controller into something that a person with a hand disability could operate.


- Helping to measure and understand vibration of a platform we plan to use to shake up people.

Requirements from all students & parents

- Complete, sign and submit
all six official program forms no later than July 9th ,2007.


- Comply with all Enterprise Development Center, NJIT and Connections rules as instructed. Escorting – by a supervisor when moving between places- is one of the most important safety rules in the program.


- Attend all days and hours every week. Sign the attendance sheet every time. Please contact the program director and project sponsor if you cannot attend at any time.
